The Michigan Radio Network is seeking one (1) intern for news and one (1) intern for sports.  This internship will require applicants to handle tasks involved in the everyday operation of a radio newsroom.  Both internships are writing intensive with duties including collecting and editing audio; producing stories; attending press conferences and some on-air work. Not only would interns have the chance to work in large market radio, they would work both for and with the News Directors of the seventy best News-shops in the state.

The Michigan Radio Network operates bureaus in downtown Lansing and in the Capitol Newsroom.  The internships will be based out of our Lansing bureau, but will allow applicants to interact with our other bureaus as well as our affiliates.

Internship applicants should have college majors in Communications, Journalism or a related field and should be in their junior or senior year at a four-year college.  In addition to good writing skills, interested applicants should also be able to work under intense deadline pressures (there are several during the course of a regular day).  The positions are unpaid, but the Network is willing to work with institutions toward accreditation.  We are looking for someone willing to work twenty (20) to twenty-five (25) hours per week.  The hours are flexible depending on the applicant's own schedule and the dynamics of the daily news calendar.  This internship will run the length of the fall semester.

Interested applicants should send a resume and any pertinent material from your school to :
